Supporting Jordan’s Fight Against COVID-19

 

The Abt-led USAID Health Service Delivery project is contributing to the National Response Plan for COVID-19 in Jordan by improving the capacity of healthcare workers to manage COVID-19 patients under their care. By May 2020, over 270 service providers from 35 public hospitals serving all the districts in Jordan have received training on quality management focused and evidence-based strategies.

Abt to Continue Improving Tanzania's Health and Education Services

 

Abt was awarded a major contract to continue improving Tanzania’s health and education services under USAID’s Public Sector Systems Strengthening Plus (PS3+) project. Abt previously improved governance at more than 24,000 health facilities and schools in Tanzania to deliver better quality, delivery, and use of public services through USAID’s predecessor PS3 program.

Abt Helps Rwanda Pass Policy Expanding Care from Pharmacists

 

In February 2020, Rwanda’s Minister of Health approved a change in policy allowing private pharmacists to administer injectable contraceptives. This change, spearheaded by USAID’s Abt-led SHOPS Plus Project and an association of retail pharmacy owners in Rwanda, will make it easier for families to obtain family planning methods.

Reducing the Harm from Malaria in Zimbabwe

 

The Zimbabwe Assistance Program in Malaria (ZAPIM) project has trained hundreds of healthcare and village health workers in malaria case management and facilitated the distribution of nearly 1 million insecticide-treated nets. Abt and its partners work to provide capacity building and social behavioral change techniques for ZAPIM.

Enabling a Healthier Senegal Through Universal Health Coverage

 

The Abt-led, USAID-funded Senegal Health Systems Strengthening Plus (HSS+) project works to develop policies and strategies that provide an enabling environment for universal health coverage. HSS technical assistance initiatives have provided financial protection for more than 700,000 people.
