Youth Exposed Hundreds of Millions of Times to Noncompliant Alcohol Ads

 

Youth exposure to alcohol ads is linked to underage drinking. Abt and Boston University found that, between 2017 and 2019, U.S. youth were exposed to millions of commercials that did not comply with guidelines to prevent overexposure to alcohol ads. Accessing Contraception and Why It Matters: Findings from 36 Countries

 

Improving contraceptive access, equity, and choice – both during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond – begins with understanding where women obtain family planning methods and how sources vary across user groups. By analyzing data from the most recent Demographic and Health Survey the USAID-funded, Abt-led SHOPS Plus Project found one in three contraceptive users across 36 countries obtains her method from the private sector.

The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) Analysis

 

RGGI is a carbon trading program designed to reduce carbon pollution in 10 states in the U.S. Northeast. Abt’s analysis found that RGGI significantly reduced air pollution from fossil fuel power plants, with residents now experiencing significantly fewer premature deaths, heart attacks, and respiratory illnesses.
