California’s Project Roomkey has helped more than 42,000 people experiencing homelessness move into safe temporary housing in hotels and motels during the pandemic. The program serves people experiencing homelessness who are COVID-19 positive, exposed to COVID, and those who are at high risk for contraction. Abt will evaluate the program’s implementation and the health and housing outcomes of people who used the program.

Faced with increasing operational costs, the project led a study in northern Ghana to find innovative ways to combat malaria with reduced use of insecticide.
The U.S. Department of Labor’s American Apprenticeship Initiative provided funding to 46 grantees to expand registered apprenticeship into new sectors, such as healthcare, and to populations underrepresented in apprenticeships. This is the first report from Abt’s evaluation of the initiative.
